{"id":1720,"date":"2018-02-14T12:01:10","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T01:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dalgarnoinstitute.org.au\/wp_site\/alcohol-and-marijuana-together-magnifies-driving-difficulties-2\/"},"modified":"2018-02-14T12:01:10","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T01:01:10","slug":"alcohol-and-marijuana-together-magnifies-driving-difficulties-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dalgarnoinstitute.org.au\/wp_site\/alcohol-and-marijuana-together-magnifies-driving-difficulties-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Alcohol and Marijuana Together Magnifies Driving Difficulties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>13\/2\/18Bottom of Form&nbsp;&nbsp;Mixing Alcohol and Marijuana Amplifies THC in the System<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Three news stories exemplify the tragic results of mixing alcohol and marijuana before getting behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.&nbsp; Most recently,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/bayarea\/article\/Driver-charged-in-crash-that-killed-CHP-officer-12467427.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a suspected-DUI driver crashed into a California Highway patrolman in a parked vehicle<\/a>&nbsp;on Christmas Eve.&nbsp; Andrew Camilleri, 33, died instantly.&nbsp; He left behind a wife and three children.<\/p>\n<p>A driver who drank alcohol and smoked marijuana killed CHP Officer Andrew Camilleri, on&nbsp;Chrstmas&nbsp;Eve.<\/p>\n<p>A New York teen admitted that he used both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailygazette.com\/article\/2017\/10\/03\/driver-allegedly-admits-drinking-smoking-before-crash-that-killed-friend-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marijuana and beer&nbsp;<\/a>before the crash that killed his 16-year-old friend on August 31.&nbsp; Another&nbsp;14 year-old&nbsp;in the vehicle was injured. Authorities have charged the teen with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.&nbsp; Yet, the teen claimed that he didn\u2019t feel that he was \u2018messed up.\u2019 &nbsp; He said that he had taken 3 or 4 hits of a joint, and drank from two partial cans of beer.&nbsp;
