A third of psychosis cases in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/london\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a>&nbsp;are the result of smoking skunk, according to research. Another study by Oxford University showed it increases the risk of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/depression\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">depression<\/a>&nbsp;in teenagers by 40 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>They join the hundreds of other studies which show that, far from being the harmless substance campaigners would have us believe, cannabis is a dangerous, damaging intoxicant that has a profound effect on the structure and function of the brain.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t enforce the law on cannabis, which means parents who are bravely trying to steer their children away from it are unsupported by the criminal justice system, writes Dr Max Pemberton<\/p>\n<p>The wards are littered with similar examples of lives wrecked, sometimes for a short time, sometimes permanently.
