However, one factor that has both a disturbing, and all too often irreversible impact on mental health and wellbeing, is the alcohol and other drug factor (AOD).<br \/>As some \u2018grown ups\u2019 clamour for greater liberalization of drug laws and the egregious example to the emerging generation that brings, students often continue to look to these models as a cue, not merely from a poor behavioural choices aspect, but all too often the model of self-medication being passively and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dalgarnoinstitute.org.au\/wp_site\/the-unleashing-of-domestic-familial-intimate-partner-violence-the-drug-factor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">actively foisted on the developing child<\/a>.<br \/>All humans were designed for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=37uU2zulfR4&amp;list=PLTMqlfT-1C1xhSdBLGZqhjlbyDniO3YAN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reward and Exploration<\/a>, but this pattern is so easily hijacked by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ap0FIgswK7E&amp;list=PLTMqlfT-1C1xhSdBLGZqhjlbyDniO3YAN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rebellion and Experimentation<\/a>&nbsp;counterfeits, that often are unwittingly reinforced by inaccurate cultural memes, like\u2026&nbsp;<i>\u2018all kids are gunna rebel, can\u2019t do a thing about it!\u2019<\/i><br \/>The United Nations Office on Drugs &amp; Crime&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/d2wbwr2x09eh50.cloudfront.net\/images\/resources\/pdf\/Dalgarno__UNODC_Doc_19-12-22.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>(UNODC<\/b><\/a><b>)<\/b>&nbsp;continues to promote&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/d1r9bdsrv6vekg.cloudfront.net\/images\/resources\/pdf\/aod\/AODPrimaryPrevention.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>prevention and demand reduction<\/i><\/a>&nbsp;for not only children (up to 18 years of age) but those still in developing brain stage \u2013 12 to 30 years of age) The World Health Organisations (W.H.O<a href=\"https:\/\/d2wbwr2x09eh50.cloudfront.net\/images\/nb-resources\/research2023\/WHO_Mental_Health_Action_Plan2030_-_Dalgarno_Institute.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>) Comprehensive Mental Health Plan 2013-2030<\/b><\/a>also seeks to give young people the best chance to develop sound mental health frameworks, of which&nbsp;<i>substance use has no place<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the Dalgarno Institutes educational offerings (alongside our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nobrainer.org.au\/index.php\/resources\/humpty-dumpty-resilience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Humpty Dumpty Dilemma Resiliency Project<\/i><\/a>) we have developed a number of key workshop\/seminars on&nbsp;<b>AOD and Mental Health<\/b>for your teachers and students.
