One often overlooked factor that plays a significant role in increasing suicide risk is&nbsp;<strong>acute alcohol use (AAU)<\/strong>\u2014the consumption of alcohol shortly before an attempt. Research shows that AAU not only amplifies impulsivity and psychological distress but also influences the methods individuals choose when attempting suicide.
